Wild Wandering Weirdo

meet the original

Keepin' it weird since 1984

Fellow weirdos! Welcome, I am so glad you are here!

Hi! I am Krysta, a born and raised country girl from rural Ohio. I grew up exploring the woods and taking family vacations learning about nature with dirt under my feet and mop of curly hair on my head.  As I grew up, that exploration sparked something in me and I just HAD to get out in this big ole world!

Yes, I have my yoga teacher certification, Reiki attunement and trained in Nepal in Nada Yoga, better known as sound healing.  I also obtained my Master's degree in Education from THE Ohio State University and spent more than 15 years in corporate marketing.  As a child, I also studied at Columbus College of Art and Design.

Where I am grateful for my formal training, my REAL education comes from my life of adventure.  From sitting at the tables of strangers, now family, in Chile.  From trekking solo in the Himalaya Mountains in Nepal.  From backpacking alone in east Africa to see baby gorillas. From experiencing the magic of the temples in Cambodia, Egypt and Guatemala. Oh and swoon... camping in the Utah desert. And how could I forget the magic that happens from attending festivals like Burning Man, Lost Lands and Electric Forest?

These are the experiences that have shaped me.

Then life happened. And. It happened hard. In October 2023, I was walking across the street and was hit by a car.

This happened while already carrying the impossible -- a story better told in person -- but, this horrific event is what let me to meet the love of my life, Will.

I've always been amazed by how life can be so beautiful yet, impossible at the same time.  There I was, recovering from surgery, which meant giving up my life of adventure, all while experiencing other health issues and very hard things at home.

And. There. HE. Was.

And just like that, this Wild Wandering Weirdo went from an "I" to a "we."

We continue to wander and explore, but are beyond happy to call Denver, Colorado our home. With Will's support, I have been able to set down the impossibly hard things I had been carrying for 20 years. I have been able to walk away from a high-paying job that was unhealthy. More importantly, I started creating art again! A childhood passion that had long left me with the hustle of you know... life.

My journey to acceptance... accepting things that I can change and more importantly -- the things I cannot -- has left me overflowing with creativity! Overflowing with love and joy. Overflowing with passion and wonder. Overflowing with this need to share my love of art and wellness with the world! So together, Will and I have created this space for you!

Wild Wandering Weirdo started as a title book that I still hope to one day write and share with you... but until then...  Please come hang with me at Wild Wandering Weirdo Wellness and like me, you too can heal your inner wild!

And. There. He. Was.
